The Article
What’s necessary to submit a website into search engines? Nothing! A couple of years ago it was the first thing which to start from, but submissions into search engines is useless nowadays. The reason? It’s all because of the fact that web spiders follow links. So instead of visiting 200 sites where 99% of them are not worth a visit anyway, get one or two simple links pointing to your website. If the pages where you acquired the links from are ranked normally, be sure that your site will be crawled and indexed by all major search engines soon. In general it usually takes from 1 to 14 days. Even if your new website was indexed in 1 month, you’re still doing well with it.
How Long to Wait before Being Indexed?
Being indexed in 1 day is not necessary! This idea is based on my personal experiences with Google for example. Let’s picture yourself with a new website related to web design. Would you think that a new website could get top rankings for the “web design” phrase in 1 day or even 1 month after being indexed? The answer is simple; No. This is why you should focus on the quality of content and maybe advertising while your site is still young. If it didn’t work this way, then anyone could be no.1 in search engines.
Automated Tools?
Using automated tools for submissions is the worst option which you could select! Automated applications can cause a penalty for your site. Imagine a situation when your new website is just launched and before it can be indexed, it gets a penalty. A penalty will result in seeing your website in Google after some time (delayed). This time can be anything from 2 weeks up to 4 months! I’d recommend to use automated tools only if you knew that it protects you from being banned. For instance, so-called semi-automated tools may work this way: Every search engine’s “add url” page is opened in the browser, maybe some fields are filled, but the user must click on the “submit” button. This way has one great advantage; If the search engine uses the captcha thing, then only a human can recognise letters or numbers within. Said in a simple form, the search engine will not consider you to be spammer.
